Update

Well, now that I am back to my "normal job" things have slowed down a bit with school, but the after school activities still keep everyone busy. Here is what we have been up to lately.

To start off, just a few random shots
of Aubrey Dawn and her daily life :)

Getting ready for bed after a bath...
(pt 1)

...getting sleepy
(pt 2)

...almost ready for night night.
(pt 3)
(note the THREE chap sticks she is hoarding :))

Hanging around before church.

Today was also my 29th BIRTHDAY, overall it was a great day!

The day started off with Steve giving me my gift
(which I had already secretly peeked at...sorry!)
It was a nice Victoria Secret "Very Sexy" lotion/perfume set.
Then I went to school with donuts for breakfast at school and
then we also had the K-4 Track Meet during the school day.
It was a VERY WARM and windy day that reached almost 90 degrees!

When I picked up Aubrey from Lisa, both
Kate and Aubrey greeted me with BALLOONS!
Aubrey picked out the butterfly balloon
and Kate picked out the cupcake balloon!
THANKS, girls!

Aubrey had a lot of fun playing with MY balloons :)

THEN, Aubrey and I headed over to the Lacey Complex
for Daddy's home track meet and spent the later afternoon/evening there.

"Brown Bear Brown Bear" - video!

We were reading tonight "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and Aubrey did a great job
naming the color and animal on the next page. Enjoy!

Where have I been?!

SO SORRY, for you faithful blog readers, I have seemed to disappear off the face of the blogger earth! Interestingly enough, my last blog post was Monday, April 1 and things have changed drastically since!

For those of you who don't know, I have been called in to be a "long-term sub" for our 5th grade teacher Mrs. Fash. When I got the call over two weeks ago, we knew that her daughter had been very ill and close to death. Since then, her daughter did pass away and now Mrs. Fash is getting back to the "new normal" for her life. I have stepped in and took over her 5th grade classroom until she is ready to return, which should be sometime next week, which will mean that I would be in 5th grade for three weeks.

So, after teaching 1st grade for 3 months for a friend on maternity leave, I went back to my "normal job" for all of about 2 weeks and then got the call to step up to 5th grade. If I thought I was busy in 1st grade, this is a whole other type of busy - wow! It requires a lot more planning and a lot more grading - yuck! BUT, I knew I once again had to be selfless and step up to the challenge for the sake of the school and the kiddos.

Needless to say, it seems there have been things that have been put on the back burner, such as updating the blog and sadly, to be honest, spending QUALITY time with Steve and Aubrey. When I get home, I have  a quick tendency to pop on the TV, let Aubrey be and me get to the grading and planning at home. Steve has been WONDERFUL about helping out with suppers and even bringing Aubrey to school each morning for the babysitter to pick her up there, so I can go into school early. It looks like Mrs. Fash will return sometime next week, so MAYBE I can finish out the school year "normally" for the last few weeks!

There. Now you know where I have been.
Time to shower and go to bed before I do it all over again tomorrow!

"A is for Apple" - video!

Aubrey has gotten quite good at singing along with the you tube video
"A is for Apple" - here she is singing along with the whole thing!
Sorry for those of you who won't be able to get this tune out of your head for awhile :)

PS - Another funny that I just have to document!
After this video there are often other videos that pop up that you can watch.
So, I clicked on the "Five Little Ducks" one and she was really liking
to count them and to watch the little duckies. BUT THEN...
at the very end, all the duckies swim away and they don't come back right away
and Aubrey starting CRYING, almost sobbing!
She kept saying, "Aww, Mommy, duckies go bye"
She was inconsolable and didn't even watch to watch
the end when they all come back, even after we told her that it was okay they weren't gone forever.
For the rest of the night she kept pouting about the "duckies and Mommy."
So sad, I didn't mean to traumatize the poor girlie :)
