1-0

The 2013-2014 Girls Basketball season is officially underway
with our first game tonight at home vs. Centerville.
Steve's team is very young, with even two freshman on the
starting line up.

It was a late start time of 7:20 and
it was a long one! It went into
DOUBLE OVER TIME!
(That means it didn't get over until 9:20)

I don't know that I could really give you many
details of the game, because when you have a
2 year old girl who has to go potty
several times, it's hard to stay in the game.
It seemed like every time we went out,
a big play was made.
She was very excited to stay up late
but we were ready to head home
before the first OT :)

Anyway, we pulled out the win tonight for a
1 - 0 record with a score of
28-25, which is a great accomplishment
for a very young team.
Hopefully that can give us some confidence
for the season!

A day in the life of Aubs :) - videos!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I had wanted to post videos
earlier, but the computer wasn't cooperating.
Today we were home extra early from school today
which provided me the chance to get some more videos
of Aubsey Wabsey :)

Singing and dancing to "Jesus Loves Me"

Playing puzzles and asking herself
to find each letter.
I love how she plays by herself, so cute!

Setting up the tree

Saturday morning, Aubrey asked Daddy if we could
set up the Christmas tree
and Daddy said YES!
So, there was no backing out, we set it up!
We also went outside and put up the
Christmas lights on the house.
We won't turn on the outside lights yet
but our tree is up and glowing.

(yes, this was kinda posed as I
threw the lights around her, but she was fascinated)

getting a real close look - lol

time for a cookie break

helping Daddy string up the lights

she did a great job this year
actually putting the ornaments on correctly

during lunch she snuck out of the room
and had to take a quick look at her ornaments
and then was back to lunch :)

First Snow

Today we got our first snow of the season.
It started snowing while Aubrey was napping and when
she woke up she saw it.
I said, "Aubrey, look, it's snowing!"
Her response:
"Holy Smokes!"
Lol.
I think she learned that phrase from Daddy.
She says now we need our snow boots
which is true, but we won't be going out in it today :)
She keeps looking out the window
and notices that the mower is full of snow and the trees, oh boy!

(Good thing we got the screens off yesterday
and put the storm windows back just tin time)

Now it's "Dora" for a girl :)

Now that Aubrey knows the baby is a girl,
the name "Petey" is out.
During breakfast this morning (yes, in our sunglasses)
we were going through a baby book and listing lots
of names and were checking to see if she liked any.
Of course, she found one she liked....enjoy:)
(PS - none of the names listed are in the running)

And, not because I like these pics of me at all,
but ONLY because some far away family have been asking:
20 weeks pic - 1/2 way there!

Ultrasound!

On Friday afternoon we had our first ultrasound with Baby #2.
Steve took off a little early from work and Aubrey came along, too.
We got in right away and didn't have to wait at all,
which was great since we had an excited Aubrey along for the ride.

They got started and Aubrey was interested
for about 2 minutes but quickly lost interest, as expected.
We packed a bag with treats and books
which kept her fairly entertained.
She wanted to be close by Mommy
and didn't understand why Mommy was in the bed
and she was filled with "what's that?" questions.
The technician didn't mind an inquisitive girl which was nice.

Aubrey could recognize the head and hands and feet
and even got to hear the heartbeat!
And at one point she asked, "Where's the knees?"
Silly girl to think what was going through her mind.

Everything looked great with the baby
but he/she did not want to reveal his/her gender.
So Aubrey and I went for a little walk to try
to re-position the baby.
Aubrey talked to him/her and said, "Don't be shy!"

So, we tried to see again and we found out that baby is a
GIRL!
I had to tell Aubrey, that,
"Did you hear that, Mommy's baby is a GIRL!"
Immediately she squealed/screamed very loudly
and said, "YAY, A GIRL!"
And proceeded to run and jump around squealing!
The ultrasound tech said that was the best
reaction she had all day!

I was secretly hoping for a girl, so Mommy is thrilled
and Daddy has realized he will be totally outnumbered
and will spend many more days playing dress-up princess :)

They gave us a USB of about 15 pictures from the ultrasound
so we can print, email, and share.
(Something new from when we had Aubrey)
So, enjoy the few pics of our precious baby GIRL!
Now to think of a name....hmmmph.

Trick or Treat

I had gotten this bumblebee costume last year on clearance
and it worked great this year!
First we went around the mall to collect
some treats.
Then we went out after supper to some
friends' house!
Aubrey had a blast.
We asked her what her favorite part was
and she said, "saying thank you!" :)
