On Thursday, May 13 the 1st and 2nd graders went to Lake Red Rock together. I was able to go along as teacher/mom. They hiked down to the lake, climbed on rocks, climbed up Cordova Tower, had a picnic lunch and then went to the beach to play in the sand and water. It was a BEAUTIFUL day and I was glad I was able to spend the morning and through lunch with Avery and then I had to head back to school to teach a junior high elective class in the afternoon.

K-4 Track Meet
Both girls were able to run at the K-4 Track Meet that they have at Lacey Complex this year! Aubrey ran the open 400 and the third leg of the 4x100. Avery ran the open 200 and a leg on the 4x50. We had time to "practice" a few times before the meet and both girls beat their fastest times from practice! Steve was able to take the morning off and come watch, I mean "time" the girls, too!
Avery T-ball
Avery just started her season of t-ball. Steve is an assistant coach and this is the first year that Avery has played. They can try to hit off the pitching machine 5 times, and if they don't get a hit, then they hit off the tee. Everyone runs one base at a time, no outs, and they are rotate positions. She's had fun so far! She says it's WAY BETTER than her experience with soccer two years ago.
Aubrey Minors Softball
Aubrey began a season of Minors softball this spring! This is the first year that it is player-pitch, stealing bases, striking out, all new things to learn! Each game she learns something new and really does enjoy playing! She is on a team with 4th and 5th grade girls on the Oskaloosa MCG team.

B.I.G. Musical
On Thursday, April 29 and Friday, April 30 the K-4th graders performed their musical! We were so glad they were able to perform, even though they limited parents to only one night. Thankfully as a staff member I was able to go both performances!
Aubrey had one of the main parts as “Alex,” was a small group singer and part of the creative moment group. She did so good even if there were a few minor slip ups with her mic falling off. The B.I.G. group stood for the Bible Idea Group - who had to help "Pastor Stan" come up with a sermon of the ENTIRE BIBLE in less that 25 minutes :)
