Seven Oaks Snow Tubing

We did not end up traveling over Christmas break, neither to NWI nor to an ISU Bowl game (we were hoping it would be in San Antonio, but it was in Orlando instead) so it was a LONG BREAK at home.

We did do several fun things like check out the pickle ball courts at Trio...

...try their pretzel bites and watch the football game...

...buying WICKED at watching in New Year's Eve...

...pics at church.

On Friday, January 3 we went to Seven Oaks in Boone to go snow tubing. You purchase tickets for a 2-hr slot. It was cold, but the sun was finally out and we didn't get too cold until the very end. We were outside from 12:30-3:15! It was refreshing!

In the warm lodge getting bundled up before we head out.

There were 4 slopes to pick from, some were single and some were double. You then get pulled up the hill with a pulley system - very nice since you only have to walk from the end of the slide to the bottom of the lift.

This was a pic of Avery going up the lift behind me - you went up backwards.

Once on the top, you got released into this little slide - Avery's favorite part!

After our 2-hr tubing slot was finished, we did a little shopping in Ames and ate at Hickory Park!

Vander Schel/Kaisand Christmas

The extended Kaisand Christmas was on December 21, but since Aubrey was sick, Steve and Avery just attended that one. Thankfully no one else got sick and we were able to do all the rest of our Christmas plans. We were waiting on 2 babies to be born, so we didn't make it back up to NWI in December.

On Monday, December 22, we had Grandma Betty's Christmas - the kids table.

Aubrey reading the Christmas story before gifts.

It was chilly, but no snow, so it was nice enough to throw the football around for awhile outside.

We opened their last stocking when we got home.

On Wednesday, December 25, we celebrated the Kaisand Christmas

The kids put on a Christmas play - Sophia was the angel

We played the "Left - Right" game and watch the Chiefs play!

On our way home we stopped at the Osky Square to run through the dancing lights to our favorite Christmas song "Light of Christmas" - by Toby Mac

Our little family Christmas

Our little family Christmas was held on Tuesday, December 24.
We made a few goodies ahead of time and then started the fun by 3:00 in the afternoon.

Steve had a fun idea to play a cup matching game, with CASH under each cup! After I found one of the $10 bills I was kicked out of the game ;)

We have continued the tradition of playing a Christmas BINGO game to
pick the order in which we open gifts.

We also did a few games with marshmallows - stacking, picking up with cups on your hands, etc.

And a few more games with cups...

After all the food and gifts, we made little Christmas ornaments (amidst the disaster) and watched a Hallmark Christmas movie about the Chiefs.

And of course, the girls made a Christ mas dance for us!
