1st Birthday Party - Part 2

We spent a few days of our Spring Break up in NW Iowa to spend time with family and have another birthday party, too for Aubrey. The weather was  BEAUTIFUL!

Aubrey and Camryn are really starting to play together :)

1st Birthday Party - Part 1

We celebrated Aubrey's 1st birthday at our house on Monday, March 12 with Steve's side of the family.  We had a good time with supper, presents, dessert, and of course a smash cake.  Unfortunately we must have spread the flu bug, too since about 3/4 of the people there were struck down with sickness within a few days!

Aubrey the morning of the party in her jammies

I found this idea on Pinterest too make a collage of each of her pictures
from 0-12 months and displayed it along the food line.

These were cupcakes arranged in a flower shape! (from Hy-Vee, too)

Aubrey ready to dig into her cake NOW!

"Yay, I already know what I'm spending this money on!"

Time to dig into the smash cake!

She acted like such a little girl and only stuck a
few fingers in at a time and carefully licked each one off.

Mommy thought that was no fun so she
shoved her hands in to get her really into it.

Now we added a chunk of cake onto the fork and she got more excited.

"So BIG!"

All done with the cake and ready for a bath.

Nice pink highlights there, Aubrey.

1 year photo shoot

Aubrey did a pretty good job cooperating for pictures again.  We definitely had the most "good ones" to choose from.  Here are just some of our favorites :)

Aubrey's 1 year pictures

For those of you who do not have Facebook, here is a link to some of Aubrey's 1 year pictures we took Saturday.  We thought they turned out great :) Enjoy!

Getting into Trouble...I Mean "Exploring"

Apparently yesterday the "planets aligned" and you could
stand a broom up on its end so I have it a try and it worked :)

I have been blocking the kitchen with the chair
and the high chair and she doesn't like it.

How did you get under there little girl?

Blocked in again...still smiles

"I can almost get through, Mommy!"

"Okay, maybe I can't!"

"Thanks for saving me, Mommy!"

Tyler Sash at Oskaloosa Christian

All right, I just have to share!!! Oskaloosa Christian School just had the opportunity to have Tyler Sash come for our Reading Month Finale and it was AWESOME!  First we had him help pull out a name from each class for a free T-shirt.  Then he read the book "T is for Touchdown."  We then had a Q and A time with him followed by class pictures, a school picture, and high fives for all the kids as they left.  What a great witness and role model for our young kids.  I know I had a blast and I think the kids did too.  Since I was helping with a lot of it, I didn't get a lot of pictures but here are a couple that I did.  The Osky News was there and hopefully they will post a story with some pics, too! Is it bad, but I am giddy right now with excitement! So much fun! I am glad we did it at the end of the day and could send the hyper kids home:)

I had to have my photo op too :) :)
