Christmas presents!

Saturday night (Dec. 19) we opened a few of our Christmas presents.
We opened ours from Great Grandma Van Grouw
and a couple in the stocking before we head to NWI next week.

Aubrey waiting nicely and Avery VERY excited
(notice her face :))

Now she has her own baby doll crib for her "bee-bees"

Aubrey is excited she doesn't have to share hers now ;)

YAY- just stand on the box, then!

Now your turn...

Frozen sleeping bag in a Frozen backpack!

Now she's "for sure ready for camping and sleepovers!"

playing around with their presents

a stocking present for Avery

 movie "Rio" for the van

Aubrey got a 10 pack of Princess movies for the van rides, too!

And one last to share....Frozen ornament of "SISTERS!"

No, sweetie, that's for your baby dolls...

not that comfy?

I guess it might work....
(We remember Aubrey doing this same thing at this age
when she got a baby doll crib, too)

Christmas Party #1

Our first Christmas party of the 2015 season is in the books
at Grandpa and Grandma Betty's.
We had lunch, opened gifts, visited and had goodies
while some of the littles napped, too.

Avery dancing and singing "Happy Birthday, Jesus!"

We listened to the Christmas story before presents

Avery opening her first present of the year

TWO riding Barbies and a HORSEY!
(Her older sister may have been quite jealous ;))

Avery spending tummy time with cousin Hannah

Aubrey's turn - YAY!

A horse for her - she noticed it goes with an 18 inch doll.
(that she doesn't have...yet ;))

The girls both got hand made frames from their cousin Amanda

and hand-painted animals for Amanda, too!

Avery liked Noah's animal puzzle that he got

Aubrey LOVING Avery's gift

WOW! A hand made stool/storage tote
made by Grandp and Grandma Betty!

Aubrey had picked out the fabric a long time ago
and NOW she knows what it was for!

Avery got one too that matches her elephant blankie :)

And Grandma made PILLOWS with the left over fabric

Elephant PILLOW!

Hmm, Avery, is it naptime?

Reading books with Grandpa Craig after a nice nap.

Advent things

We just got the "Star from Afar" Advent activity/book/game this year.
Each night you hide the star and have the wisemen search for the star.

The girls are getting their wisemen ready to search...

...on the hunt...

Aubrey found it this night on the light!
Each night we have fun hiding the star - even Avery has really gotten into it.

And a few pics for fun :)

Avery had a little too much freedom eating her chocolate pudding ;)

After baths and ready for bed and Daddy comes home
to spoil the girls with a Christmas cookie before bed :)

Yummy Christmas cookie!

More books before bedtime with Mom.

Basketball Season Underway

The 2015-2016 Basketball season is officially underway
and the record begins with 0-3.
They have played Centerville, #5 Fairfield last week and Knoxville on Friday night.

The girls and I went to Knoxville on Friday
along with Grandma Char and Grandpa Craig

Nothing like a ring pop to keep a busy girl entertained...for a few minutes.

Avery greatly enjoyed the snacks, too, especially the popcorn!

Then, we had to bust out the ipad for awhile (and blankie, too).

Coach Kaisand and his new assistant this year, Jacie White

We sat right behind the bench, so we hear him during time-outs.
(and Avery listening in)

(and a few random pics)..."cool dude" says Avery
