Summer!

It's been a wetter and chillier start to our summer than in year's past
but we have enjoyed a change of pace greatly!
Jen still is doing summer tutoring 4 days a week in the morning
and Steve is busy with "speed and aglility" and working at the farm!

A nice day for a family bike ride

Avery's 1st time to "rickety bridge" with her bigger bike and training wheels

We got the pool set up in June, but only have been in it about 5 times so far
 due to the cooler weather.

My roses all came back beautifully even though I was worried
after a harsh winter.

One afternoon Aubrey floated for 30 minutes straight!
Unbelievable - she was getting chilly and even got a little sunburn
on her stomach where we forgot to sunscreen :)

multiplication squirt gun game

Avery started gymnastics up again for 6 times this summer

She was the only one on time when it started - a few more did join her later.

The girls enjoyed the Kaisand cousins campout the weeked of Father's Day!
We celebrated Steve's birthday a few days early out there, too.

Grandpa and Grandma's nice new camper!

The girls LOVED their time camping for a few days this year!

We decided to make cupcakes for Steve's birthday

The girls planned a little "surprise party" for Steve -
those girls LOVE birthdays!

Happy 36th, Steve!

Aubrey's Last Day

On Friday, May 25, Aubrey had her last day of 2nd grade!

It wasn't Dad's last day - he still had quite a few days left

End of the year chapel and awards

Aubrey was 1 of 4 classmates *from a class of 23* that received
the PENMANSHIP AWARD!

Miss Abbie (classroom aide) had to pass them out since Aubrey's teacher
was out of town the last 3 days of school due to a family wedding in CO

She received a certificate and a $2 bill

End of the year chapel group rotations
(making a Cherrios bird feeder)

The day after the last day of school, the girls were invited to the
Oskaloosa Fire Department for a pizza party since they won the
coloring contest at the Pizza Ranch.

And on Memorial Day, the girls enjoyed climbing
Grandma Betty's tree

End of Spring Things

Avery had her last day of Sonshine preschool
on May 20, and it did not feel like the end.
It was COLD! The kids had a field trip to the Library
and then had a picnic lunch at Edmunson Park.

Avery is WAY at the top of the rocket

Last day of Sonshine!

Aubrey participated in the Live Healthy Iowa Track Meet

She ran the 200 and got 3rd

She did the standing long jump and did not place

She also ran the 50 and got 3rd in that, too

On Thursday, May 23, OSCI had their FIELD DAY!
We participate in chapel groups and do games all afternoon.
Black vs. Maroon :)
