On Friday, we headed out on a little 3 1/2 hour road trip to Dubuque, IA right on the border of Iowa/Illinois/Wisconsin. We went out for a cousin's wedding. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was in a hotel right on the Mississippi and very pretty! We had to get back the next day for Steve's basketball tourney so we didn't spend the night.
Here is a picture at the reception.
On the way home we ran into a storm HARD CORE! It suddenly started down pouring and wind gusts like crazy. I was driving since Steve had "enjoyed the reception" and it was horrendous! We typically never stop to "wait out the storm" because you still will get out of it faster even if you are going 10 mph but because of the intense lightning, strong winds, and down pouring rain we could not see ahead of us more that 2 feet! We decided to pull over for a bit and the highway was lined with cars that had all pulled over - it was unbelievable! Neither of us had even been out driving in a storm that bad...EVER! We turned on the radio and right exactly where we were, they reported 60 mph winds and we felt it! The whole car shook! Aubrey did ok, but of course she was scared, but I couldn't blame her, I was practically in tears too!
Aubrey has officially started wearing bows in her hair, too now. She is such a cutie and we love her so much! Enjoy this cute pic after church.
