Avery's 1 year stats

Today we had Avery's one year well-child doctor visit. We were anticipating the shots and finger prick, but poor Avery had no idea :( 

Nurse Beth called Avery a "cute little peanut" and Aubrey thought that was crazy! Beth then called Aubrey a peanut too and Aubrey says, "I'm not a peanut, I'm a BUTTERFLY and Avery is a SNAKE!" We may have all laughed over that one for awhile. Lol.

She is a very healthy girl and cried through the shots and all twelve minutes of the finger prick...man that is rough. Her first prick was good but she was bleeding so much that the nurse couldn't keep up and there was a lot of "wasted" blood that just trickled down. So then she had to get pricked again...two viles full and all hot and bothered and all teared out....glad that's over with.

Her stats:

Weight: 20 lbs. 11 oz. - 34% (Aubrey was 18 lbs. 12 oz)

Height: 311/2 in. - 98% (Aubrey was 30 in)

Head circ: 17 1/4 in. - 12% (Aubrey was 17 1/2 in.)

Go Fly a Kite

It was a super windy day, so it was a great day to fly Aubrey's kite from Uncle Curt.

Avery as a 1 year old

Here are a few things I don't want to forget about Avery Leigh as a brand new one year old :) 

• Sleeps from 8-7 and only wakes up if she's sick
• Getting closer to only two naps a day
• Has limited baby food as she has really picked up on table food and eats almost anything
• Getting better at sippy's with water
• Still on bottles with formula, will start the switch to whole milk soon
• She takes about three to four steps and then fast crawls
• Loves to dance and bounce and yell
• Can be very vocal and loud when she's comfortable
• Does not like strangers and will cling to you
• Loves to follow and copy Aubrey
• Likes to fake laugh
• Can clearly say, "uh-oh!" And repeated drop toys as a game
• Transitioned to a convertible car seat, still rear facing
• Babbles a lot with her tongue out
• Likes to sit in her little foam chair like a big girl
• Still likes to put all toys and whatever else she finds on the floor in her mouth
• Has seven teeth, four on top, and three on the bottom, and two eye teeth popping through
• Likes to climb up and onto anything she can
• Likes to hang on your legs and put her arms up so you carry her
• Likes to give hugs, kisses, and high fives
• Pouts with a big lip and big tears when you say NO or take something away
• Loves her bath time with Aubrey
• Will grunt and point to something if she wants it...toys or food or attention
• Getting thicker hair and can easily wear clips if she would keep them in
• 12 month clothes are getting a little short on her, so 18 month are a better fit 
• Loves her white blankie and sucks her thumb when getting sleepy
• That's what I can think of now, her official stats won't be for a few more weeks

Part 2 - Party

On Friday afternoon/evening, we headed over to the Wynias 

to play outside and have a birthday party for 

Aubrey, Avery, and Jaelyn.

Spring Break - part 1

We drove up to NWI on Wednesday and spent through Saturday afternoon up there.

It was a very relaxing few days, where we spent most of our time

hanging out, having the cousins play, and watching NCAA basketball.
