Unfortunately the COVID-19 coronavirus is here and
there is no stopping it. We have been keeping a journal of
our social distancing and isolation that has rocked our world as we know it
and the days begin to blur together and we mourn
what spring could have been!
Our new normal is so different but we have been trying
to make the best of an awful time!
I have been home alone with the girls for most of the time,
as Steve has had to be spending a lot of time at the farm or doing zoom meetings for school.
I made the comment, since March 12,
I have eaten EVERY SINGLE MEAL with the girls - so strange!
nature art - Avery's
Aubrey's - she likes it symmetrical
I decided to implement some school for the girls at home.
School has not required anything yet, but they love to learn!
Art videos by Joe Hox online
our at-home school setting (looks similar to my summer tutoring setup)
I suggested that Aubrey keep a journal during this time.
Subject: Covid-19
The Blank Park Zoo has had many videos that we enjoy watching.
This time the made a hedgehog out of playdoh and spaghetti.
We practiced their online progrms/games of Zearn for Math and Core5 for Reading.
multiplication practice
"recess" in the rain
lots of time for games
Sleepover in Aubrey's room!
Art projects outside
more games
making Squoosh-ohs with Aubrey
We all enjoyed the stress balls!
watching shows in fun places
more crafts...
We got Messenger Kids (connected to Facebook)
to help the girls connect with family and friends.
more Joe Hox art sessions
Oskaloosa started a BEAR HUNT and we participated!
The girls made 100s charts and we drove around town trying to find
as many teddy bears in the windows that we could!
This day we only made it to 68!
fresh air for the win!
Last week we were allowed in school just to pick up our supplies
for distance learning!
I had to quick snap a pic of Avery - I HOPE this is not her last day pic :(
Avery was excited that some of the aunts and uncles have been sending
late birthday gifts/money - she decided to buy this with some!
more schooling at home
Avery redecorated her room with her new doll accessories.
thankful for a trampoline to burn some energy
messy bed, but LOTS of time playing dolls lately
After 10 days of learning at home, they "earned" a new Usborne book
On Friday night, we ordered Applebees online and drove to Pella.
It was rainy outside, so we parked in the Walmart parking lot and had a picnic in the back seat.
lots of reorganizing going on
a balmy 70 degree day - LOVE IT!
Disney Plus had become a weekly happening, too
