Our plan was to leave for Northwest Iowa on Wednesday morning, after two days of school
on Monday and Tuesday, but mom sent a text on Tuesday morning
that a big storm was headed their way on Wednesday and we should come up early.
We decided to quickly get ready after school on Tuesday and we were
on the road by 4:15 that day!
We decided to stop at "Christmas Acres" in Lemars on our drive through that night around 8:30.
We made it before the storm hit on Wednesday and it was a blizzard! Only about 3-4 inches of snow with gusts up to 60 miles an hour made for white out conditions and very poor visibility!
That meant we stayed inside by ourselves for the day while grandpa and grandma went to work.
We brought the girls' presents that they exchange for each other to keep them enteratined.
Aubrey got Jenga blocks, a mini calendar and hand sanitizer. Avery got a Frozen 2 art set, a squishy narwhal and a box of surprises.
We stayed inside and played games and watched movies as the snowstorm raged on!
The next day Grandma VG watched the Van Grouws so we got to help!
