On Thursday, Septebmer 16, we left straight from school and headed to Spencer, IA for the Clay County Fair. They moved Show Day recently to Friday, so we all had to take a day off from school to go.
It was a nice shoty 4 hour trip and we made it to the hotel. Avery was freaked out by this hotel because it's door led straight to the outside, with no indoor hallways. It actually was just fine and clean and the beds were great! We also had a breakfast there, too.
Aubrey and Steve woke up early to go to the fairgrounds and Avery and Mom took their time in the morning and didn't get there until 9:30.
Getting all the calves washed up before the show day!
Aubrey's last time showing Ruby and Daisy Duke
Aubrey with Ruby
It was Avery's VERY FIRST TIME showing a calf by herself. First she went in holding JUSTICE and Dad followed her. Later on she, would go in two more times with just her hold the calf - SO PROUD!
Both girls always have a smile on in the show ring - so fun!
Aubrey, Steve, Avery, Craig and Andrea going in for the best of five.
Noah and Hannah came with Andrea for the day, too!

Avery's cattle showing debut with JUSTICE
Taking calves out to tie outs goes a lot more quickly with lots of good help!
Grandma VG was able to come for the day to watch the girls show!
At the end of the day they got Dippin. Dots!
We went back to Grandma VG's house for a couple days to hang out with couins.
We were able to hang out with both Van Grouw cousins, but the Wynias were sick, so hopefully we can see them next time we visit!
Checking out the pond with Dakota and Weston.
Checking out the pumpkins at VAN GROUW ACRES - Josh and Jessica's farm
