On Day 3, we drove down to Waco, Texas to see the Magnolia Mecca :)
It was a cute area with the cutest little shops.
One just for leather, one for clothes, one for books, one for soaps, etc.
Steve's favorite part was the whiffle ball field that we played for awhile until it was too hot!
We had a reservation for Magnolia Table at 11:30
Biscuits with strawberry butter
French toast and fruit
Avocado Toast - yumm!
The girls with a Magnolia tree - it smelled HEAVENLY!
We got a vanilla cupcake from the bakery to share before we left.
We found the "Shotgun" Fixer Upper house
We also found the "Harp House" from Fixer Upper
CLOW Valve fire hydrant from Oskaloosa, IA in Waco, TX
That afternoon, we toured the Dr. Pepper Museum (right across the street from Magnolia)
At the end, you got a ticket for a free soda - the girls were not fans :)
We made it to our Air B&B - Sunflower Inn - both girls each got their own rooms!
We were THRILLED to find an In-N-Out Burger for supper!
After supper we walked around Baylor University
BOO BAYLOR BEARS - we are ISU fans, of course!
We found these statues - "Branding the Brazos"
Waco Suspension Bridge
Aubrey took this photo for a 4H project (notice the cross reflecting on the sidewalk)
DAY 4 - We went to Cameron Park to do some hiking in the morning before it got too hot!
Jacob's Ladder was STEEP and you felt it burn!
We were hopeful to find a cold springs, but it was all dried up!
Since the cold springs didn't cool us off, we headed for a splash pad - very refreshing!
We tried What A Burger for lunch - yummy, too!
That afternoon, we visited a National Monument just down the road
to see the COLOMBIAN MAMMOTHS!
It was just down a small hiking path that led us to this $3 million building that is still an active dig site.
Right as the girls were doing their National Park Passport stamps, a HUGE thunderstorm came through.
And Aubrey was able to find a new pair of cowgirl books for quite a discount!
DAY 5 - Goodbye Texas and travel home in one day!
And, one more stop at a different Buc-cees on the way home - YAY!
