District V Track Meet

 On Monday, April 15, Aubrey had her District V Track Meet, which is the area Christian school's track meet for grades 5-8 held out at Lacey Complex in Oskaloosa. Steve was the head timer and I helped check in kids. It was a WARM and windy day, but a fun time! 

Aubrey got 2nd in shot put for 7/8 girls, 1st in the 4x400, 1st in the sack race, and got her PR in the open 400m dash. She doesn't love track but she works hard!

The only two teams to run the 4x400m relay, so they both got 1st place - 5/6 team and 7/8 team!

We went to Pella since the tulips were in early blooming and they sure were beautiful!

 

GEMS car races

For our GEMS car races this year, Aubrey was going for speed and painted hers like ISU Cyclones colors.

Avery was going for cute and painted a penguin. 

Avery had some trouble with getting her car just the right weight, we had to do lots of drilling and re-weighing but we got it right, finally!

Easter weekend

Since we went to Disney World during the girls' birthdays, we decided to head to Northwest Iowa during Easter weekend this year. We left Friday around noon after Steve worked at the farm and came home later Sunday evening. 

Of course the girls put together a dance routine...to Taylor Swift.

On Saturday we put together two egg hunts, one for the littles and one for the bigs around the yard.
