I was able to go along with Aubrey and her 7th grade class to Terrace Hill (the Governor's mansion) and then to the Iowa State Capitol. It was a beautiful day and got tours of both.
Terrace Hill, the bottom floors are tourable and the top level is the Governor's current apartment
We ate our lunch in one of the conference rooms and then were able to meet with a couple senators and representatives.

Adrian Dickey's page and one other young man were able to take us to the TOP of the dome! I had done this before many years ago but I forgot HOW MANY STAIRS there were! It is a steep spiral staircase all the way up (27 floors) to get to the outside of the capitol! The steps were killer, but what a view!
