Field Day 2024

Mom - Navy, Aubrey - Purple,  Avery - Light Pink

Our 12 chapel groups compete in events such as the 

hoola-hoop race, water cup relay, sponge relay, sack race, obstacle course and power pull. 

We don't know the winners just yet....:)

Avery's classmate gave us a coupon to try out the new "Tastee Treat" ice cream place in Oskaloosa - 

it was great after a warm field day! 

The 4th grade teacher gave this to me as a "thank you" gift for helping in her classroom 

during math each day this year. It fits perfectly! :)

 

Avery's Goats

 Avery had been wanting goats for awhile now and now that she is in 4H and got her dad on board, we found some meat goats for Avery. She is keeping the doe just for the summer and we will sell the wether. Avery has done a GREAT job working with them already - much more her size than Aubrey's heifers are :) So at the show barn we have 2 heifers, 2 goats, and 2 lambs (not ours).

Field Trip - Avery

Steve had an extra personal day to use, so he rode the bus with Avery to 

Living History Farms in Des Moines. It was Friday, May 5 and the weather was perfect! They had fun, but wished they could have stayed longer to explore the town, but the bus needed to head back to school. Many kids rode back home with their parents, but the bus stopped at Jersey Freeze for ice cream and one of the teacher's paid! Perk!

 

Field Trip - Aubrey

On Friday. the 6th/7th grade classes went on a combined field trip. We took 4 church vans and had a scavenger hunt with clues. 1-Lacey Complex, 2-Cordova Tower, 3-Buffalo in Prairie City, 4-Yellow Banks Park, 5-Urban Air, 6-Jersey Freeze. Everyone had a great time and the weather was perfection!

Stop #4 and they got Casey's pizza, pop, chips and Icee's for dessert 

Stop #5 was Urban Air - we had been there before as a family, but have never done the ropes course, zipline and VR games - so those were definitely must-dos this time! 

This always freaks Aubrey out and it did again - but she did it! 

I was even convinced to do the zip line - twice! Pretty fun once I actually jumped off!
