1-3

Last night we hosted the Pella Christian Eagles.
This is a team that Steve has not yet beat
in his coaching of Varsity Girls at Oskaloosa.
The PC team is a team who was "beatable"
this year, but unfortunately we didn't quite have the skill
to pull it off. We had our point guard back
but still were missing a key post player.

We did well through the three quarters
and at one point we were tied 27-27.
But we have a score of 28, that we are not able to get past
(note last couple games also have been 28 points).
PC went on a huge run and the final score was
28-42.

Coach Kaisand says that you can't overlook their game
during the first part, but by the end things were
getting kind of ugly. Unfortunately,
there were some plays where the girls did
not know where they should be or what they should be doing
which caused a lot of confusion and PC to
capitalize on our errors.

Steve's last time-out he was VERY FRUSTRATED
with the girls and I was worried he was going to
be very upset when he came home.
But, he had time to cool off, and was in a decent
mood, so that was a relief :)

Better luck next time...

Hanging Out

Aubrey loves to play Pizza Ranch
and be the Pizza Ranch girl.
Here she is taking our order for what we want :)

trying to get a nice picture in front of the tree...

She totally posed like this on her own...
little stinker.

Stories with Daddy before naptime Saturday

Aubrey got to open one present early...it was another Dora ornament.
She got one last year so she was excited she now has two!

Getting ready for bedtime

Being silly with Mommy

checking out the snow...brrr!

Priceless: Daddy and Aubrey playing BARBIES :)
(the exact ones I played with as a little girl)

1-2

On Friday night, the Lady Indians hosted Pella.
Of course, they are always a tough team.
We lost 61-19.
Because we were not healthy with many
injuries and 30 turnovers in the first half,
it was a very rough game to watch.
However, we did keep Pella
to their lowest score thus far this year :)

We were joined by Grandpa Craig, Grandma Char
Chad, Cindy, Camille and Catrina
so Aubrey had fun being entertained by them.

It also was Parent's night and Steve
delivered me a rose - so that was sweet :)

Basketball Bummer

This week Steve had to cancel the JV season
due to a lack of girls left, as many have had
injuries that leave them out for awhile, or
the lack of girls out to begin with :(
They are keeping the Freshman and Varsity teams.

THEN, today, his starting point guard
came to him with an injury that
will keep her out for at least a week if not more.
And, of course we play Pella and Pella Christian
in the next week, so things are not looking up.

This may be a long season :(
At least I have my nice new Oskaloosa
stadium seat to sit on during the games :)

Advent

We didn't retrieve the pictures we lost
on the memory card, so I took some more.
We got Aubrey a chocolate Advent calendar
with a verse and candy each day.
We also have a little Velcro cloth calendar
where she gets to place one on the nativity scene each day.
So far, she has really enjoyed it!

1-1

Oskaloosa traveled to Fairfield for a game this evening
and Aubrey and I did not go.
I listened to most of the game
in between playing and giving Aubrey a bath
and getting her ready for bed.

We are now 1-1 and the final score
was 43-28 with the loss.

One of our starting Juniors has an injury
where she is now out for the year so
that is a major loss to the team.

From what I heard and hearing Steve's
interview after the game it sounds like
the major thing was TURNOVERS
and missing a lot of free throws!
But they are young and improving so that is what counts.
I'm still proud of our Coach Kaisand :)
(PS - here is the "new" Indian logo for the Indians)

Christmas Party #1

And so it begins. December 1 and we had our first
Christmas party already!
It was with Steve's immediate family
since the rest of the time, people will be with other family and/or
traveling closer to Christmastime.
It was now or in January.

We just bought a new camera on black Friday so we
were testing it out.
UNFORTUNATELY the memory card I had
was not very big, so we borrowed Grandma Char's.
In the meantime, I put our other card on the couch and it
DISAPPEARED IN THE COUCH!
This is a couch where the cushions can't be removed.
I am a bit bummed since we lost about
20 pictures on that card of some Advent things we did
and the beginning parts of the Christmas party.
So, here are the pictures we had on the other card
that didn't disappear in the couch :(

Aubrey sitting on my gift:
an Oskaloosa Indians stadium chair
for all the bball games we will be watching :)

Aubrey really wanted to "help" (do it herself)
open other's gifts this year.

A Dora coloring book and twistable colors
from Dan, Andrea and Noah

Princess bag from G and G Kaisand

Telling Grandpa Craig all the princesses names

a gift for "Baby Dora the Explorer"
(Mommy's baby, nicknamed by Aubrey)

Grandpa Craig reading the Christmas story
with Noah and Aubrey

snuggling with Mommy after a nap
and enjoying some snacks

Here the boys are TRYING to retrieve
my lost memory card in the couch.
They tipped it all around and even got out
the shop vac, but no luck.

Thanks G and G Kaisand
for the Cinderella blankie!

"Do you need help?! OK! I'll do it for you!"

"What does the cow say?!"
Aubrey says MOOOOOOO, not
what Uncle Dan says, "Moo Moo Moo"
(think..."What does the fox say?" tune)
