Uncle Bill's Farm

On Saturday, it was an absolutely perfect fall day
and even though Steve had to work on the farm all day,
the girls and I decided to head to Grinnell to
Uncle Bill's Farm - it was SUCH a perfect day!
We typically have gone during the week, but
coming on a Saturday, we were pleasantly surprised with all the fun extra activities!
It was busy, but it was spread out so it didn't bother us!

right when we walked in there were 10-day old baby goats

they were so cute, had on costumes and even diapers

filling the can with feed to reel up to the goats

Avery wanted to be Aubrey's piglet - ok?

And then Aubrey's turn - these two!

We ran into Aunt Cindy, Caitlyn, Caden and Catrina
while we were there.

Aubrey riding in "Belle"

Avery riding in "Sadie"

We were pleasantly surprised with the hour-long magic show!

Avery was the fist kid picked to help!
She didn't raise her hand, but the guy picked her anyway.
She was VERY shy at first, so Aubrey stood by her for a bit.
Before long, she was a STAR!

Checking out all the jolly ranchers in the treasure chest

Then Avery had to pick a few handfuls of candy and put it in a jar.

And he turned it into a jolly rancher necklace - WOW :)

Next was the "magic ball" trick!
She started out with one ball,,,

The she squeezed it and set it on the table and it turned into TWO!
(still not sure how that happened!) - check instagram for video
He repeated the trick a few times, turning 2 into 3 and 3 into 4,,,,,hhhhmmmmmmm?!

She got to take the jolly rancher necklace home!

Then Aubrey was called up to be the "lovely assistant" -
she had to do posing while he did tricks for a bit.

He "hypnotized" her - (AKA paid her $3) to say "Yes, Master"

Aubrey was very brave and had to close her eyes
and lay down on this table.

First the table had legs and then he moved the legs
and put a hoop through the table and she appeared to be FLOATING!
(still don't know how he did that, either!)

We didn't pick any big pumpkins this time,
but Aubrey found one she liked.
A lot were rotten already.

Avery liked this one.

Aubrey actually got to keep the $3 from the magic show
and she used $1 to buy a peacock feather - her favorite animal!

Aubrey used her other $2 to get a $1 pumpkin for herself
and gave the $1 to Avery to get a pumpkin, too!

Night Eyes *in the afternoon*

It was a GORGEOUS afternoon
(hit 60 degrees and sunny)
so we thought we would head
to Night Eyes at the Blank Park Zoo in the afternoon.
Typically when we have gone in the past, it was so busy
and we would have to park way far away, but not today!
It was busy, but we parked in the main lot, took our time
and didn't feel rushed or squished!
Don't know if that had something to do with going on an afternoon
(instead of night), or going on a Sunday - but it was GREAT!

checking out the camels in the parking lot area

The red panda came out right as we got there!

Dad and the REINDEER Aubrey

Avery THE GOOD LITTLE WITCH and Mom, WALDO

on the train - they wanted to sit together, not by Mom and Dad :)

But we were right behind them :)

Aubrey leading the cow and Avery was looking for the udder!
She couldn't find the teets and was quite confused - haha!

I think they're pretending to....hatch?!

Snow White wasn't happy to see the witch, but was glad to see her forest friend :)

Since we went in the afternoon and weren't quite as pushed for time,
the girls got to enjoy the FUN ZONE at the end of the route -with inflatables!

This makes me laugh - it looks like the wicked witch just barreling in :)

trying to balance plates on a stick

We had a gift card to use, so we ended our fun at
TEXAS ROADHOUSE for supper - yummy!
The girls liked the cowboy atmosphere, and really liked the line dancers.
