District V Track Meet

A quick errand in Pella and we realized the tulips are already popping!

Perfect opportunity for a photo op

This year it was Aubrey's first year at the DISTRICT V TRACK MEET - where the local Christian schools come together for a day of track and field events. The weather turned out to be sunny and windy, but a great day! I helped as a check-in clerk all day, too.

Aubrey did the shot put, sack rack, open 400m, and 4x400m relay

sack race with Josie

4x400 m relay - they got 2nd place!

The Osky Christian shot put and discus girls 5th-8th graders

I wasn't able to watch Aubrey's actual throws since I had to begin checking in kids for their track races, but I did get a picture of her warming up. She got 1st place
among all the 5th and 6th grade girls!

Oksy Christian 6th grade girls who also ran the open 400m

Open 400m - she got 3rd in her heat, but didn't place overall,
but beat her time that her track coach dad suggested.

Right about the time she grunted at me since her last leg was into the wind! lol

3rd grade Ag Day

The 3rd graders of Mahaska County gathered at the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds
on Friday afternoon for Agriculture Day and had a lot of great learning stations!
I was able to go as a chaperone with Avery.

Easter

Mahaska Drug always does a great job with a photo backdrop and goodie bags!

Avery still goes to humor me with the Easter bunny.

We tried our hand at dying Easter eggs again this year with plastic eggs - it didn't work as well since the eggs didn't sink in the dye. But we still managed.

We used more bags with dye instead of sinking the eggs in dye.

Avery went to the WPU egg hunt

She found a few eggs, but none with the big prizes!

We (I mean I) taped out a cross this year and we all filled it in with chalk.

It turned out really nice and lasted for almost a week before it rained!

We also did a quick little egg hunt in our backyard.

The gathered eggs with chocolates and coins.

The Easter gift bags that appeared Sunday morning :)

Happy Easter - a beautiful morning!

We went to Tracy CRC for a family lunch. Sara brought a VR game that the girls and Steve tried. It was pretty funny to watch!

That night, Renee took me to THE LION KING performance at the Civic Center (as an early birthday present, thanks to Leah, too!)

Such a great performance to see LIVE after our
junior high kids performed The Lion King, Jr. earlier this year in December.
