3-0 and ranked #15

It was the first game that Aubrey and I got to go to for the season and the Oskaloosa Indians pulled out a win tonight over Des Moines Hoover. It wasn't always pretty, but they got the job done. Steve also informed me yesterday that his team has now moved into the rankings being ranked #15 for 4A schools! Way to go! I don't know that Oskaloosa Girls Basketball has ever been rated! Here are a few "shots" of the night! :)

Pep talk by Coach K before the game

Yay, Osky! Aubrey was a little follower of Daddy we noticed!
Soon she was imitating what he said and even the plays he called or actions he did.
Pretty cute!

Time Out

Entertaining herself by climbing up and down the steps.

She did a pretty good job staying entertained and not crabby
considering the game didn't start until 7:30 and that's about when we start calming down for the night.
She made it through the whole game which ended at about 9:10 (an hour past bedtime).
We only live 5 minutes from the Gym but she was out in 2 seconds.

Coach Kaisand and his two assistant coaches:
Coach Schmidt and Coach Pederson

Final score - we win!

Way to go, Coach!
(nice "robin's egg blue" attire, by the way)
PS- the coaches always coordinate clothing colors...
requested by the woman assistant coach of course.
But they do look good, all matching :)

Running out of room...?

So in my last post it said that was running out of room to store my pics on from this blog. I don't really know a whole lot about that, except for the fact that it said that if I wanted more space I had to buy some (?!) or delete some older pictures! So, I have made a book about all my blog posts from the year 2011 and plan to delete those posts and pictures (from the blog, not forever), that way it will free up more space I guess. I plan to do this in the next few days so if you want to reminisce from my 2011 blog posts, you better do so soon because the next time you check they just might be gone :) Thanks for reading, my faithful fans!

2-0

Yup, the record is now 2-0. Although it was a slow start, we pulled out our first Home win vs. Fairfield with a 44-26 win! UNFORTUNATELY Aubrey and I had to listen on the radio again since she came down with the flu this morning. I had to play Dr. Mom instead instead of Basketball Coach's Wife, oh well, hopefully we can make the game Friday if the rest of us stay healthy!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Vander Schel side the Sunday before Thanksgiving at Grandma Betty's. On Thursday, we had the Kaisand Thanksgiving at Steve's parents for lunch.
Then, Aubrey and Mommy took off for Northwest Iowa from there and Daddy stayed home because he had to get in a couple basketball practices.

Camryn and Aubrey checking the activity outside

Aubrey just went over and tackled Camryn - lol!

Awww...cousin bonding! They played so nice together this trip!

Yay, they each get a banana after Aubrey ate the rest of Camryn's!
It was quite the scene :)

The Sioux Center Mall was giving free train rides!

Big girl Aubrey on the train!

She would keep looking around for me and calling, "Mommy!"
So sweet!

Playing with Uncle Josh in the mall

Watching the coins go round and round...

"Ring Around the Rosy" with Josh and Jessica

Being silly in the bath.
She was acting like a puppy and putting away he toys with her mouth!

Playing in Grandma Van Grouws new kitchen!
(just a taste of what she's getting for Christmas)

Grandma Van Grouw tying to get a nice picture of the grandkids...

The girls looking out the window again to see whose outside!

Eating suckers,
stickers on their shirts, and
reading books!
Too much fun!

We were worried all weekend about Aubrey getting sick since the babysitter's had the flu going around but we made it the whole weekend healthy! When Aubrey got to the babysitter on Monday, she was sick within a couple of hours! Bummer! So, now we are home with a sick little girl. Hope it passes quickly!

More fun in the cupboards

More cupboard fun for Aubrey Dawn!
Here she got out a whole shelf of storage containers and was very proud of herself.
(note her sitting on her diaper bag perched so proud!)

She just needed space to climb in, of course!

Hmmm, there isn't quite as much room in here as I thought!

"Owy, Mommy!"
PS = She did this all on her own.
We were just fast enough to snap some pics to prove it!

Christmas Decor

Since Aubrey and Mommy plan to head up to Northwest Iowa for the weekend and leave Daddy home so he can have basketball practice, we decided to put up the Christmas tree together this evening! Here are some of the hightlights :)

Aubrey was doing a little pole dancing :)

Helping Daddy get out the branches from the boxes.

Getting the tubs from downstairs...such hard work!

Of course the tree skirt is really a play skirt to twirl around in!

Laying on Daddy while he was plugging in the lights!

OOOOOhhhhhh.....pretty!

Here, Aubrey, do you want to help Mommy?

being silly...

finished product...:)

Of course, Aubrey loves to "bat" the ornaments around
and make them swing like crazy

Before I knew it, Aubrey had gotten my Nativity Scene off the shelf
and was playing with them all on the kitchen floor!
Thankfully they are not breakable, but still!

She was singing to them and saying, "Mommy...Daddy....Baby!"
Oh my word!

1-0

Oskaloosa Girls Basketball kicked off their season tonight with the one and only Steve Kaisand as head coach! :) They were at Centerville, which meant Aubrey and I stayed home and I listened to the game while she was in bed. Congrats, Indians on your first win of the season! They beat Centerville 61-30! Way to start off the season right!

Stacking Cans

While I was busy getting supper ready tonight, Aubrey found a new hobby! I let her do it and she had a blast! Now, I might not be able to find the things I need right away next time, but she had fun!

Uh, oh, you're busted :)

Hmmm, Mommy, I am taking them ALL out!

Wow, that is QUITE the stack! I did not even help her!
Yikes! I am glad we didn't have any jars or cans that busted open!

Movie Night

Tonight after supper we all got in a comfy spot and watched a little Toy Story 2
(for more than 30 minutes!!!:) I know, not good for a less than 2 year old, but oh well!)
We had a fun time staying in a watching for a bit together.
After Aubrey went to bed, Steve even watched it by himself for another half hour :)
