Happy Father's Day to our BEST!

End of Avery's Rookies Softball

Avery had a great season as her first year in Rookies Softball!
Steve helped coach and Avery really improved this year
with fielding and batting!
Her BEST play was her very last game - she SINGLE-HANDEDLY
MADE A TRIPLE PLAY!
She caught the ball at 2nd base, touched her base and then tagged the runner!
SO FUN!
She decided she likes third base the best - as she made several stops and outs this year!

Aubrey State Simmental Show - Afton, IA

On June 4 and 5,  Aubrey participated in the State Simmental Show
in Afton, IA. She went up Saturday with Steve and the cattle
and show day was on Sunday.
Avery, Craig and I drove up Sunday to watch the show!
This was the frist show of the year for "Serenity" and "Eliza."

1st and 3rd in class =  $80 cash in her pocket!

On Saturday, she played some games with some other of the contestants to hang out and have fun!

Living Room/Hallway Updates

We decided to repaint the living room and hallway and recarpet the main living room, hallway and our bedroom! It all went smoothly and quickly and were very pleased with the carpet from Modern Flooring in Osky and we did the painting - "Alpaca" from Sherwin Williams. I do the trim and Steve does the rolling.  It was nice to paint without having to drip on the old carpet. We ripped out the old carpet and all the staples so once the carpet layers came, they could measure, lay the pad and carpet and took about a day and a half to lay it all.
Pics are out of order, but enjoy the process!

Master Bedroom - we did not repaint this room

laying the pad down before the carpet

All our bedroom and living room furniture got divided in the girls' rooms and the dining room. Tight quarters for about a week, but it was nice to be able to "live" downstairs during the process.

No nice hardwood floors under the old carpet - just plywood and LOTS of staples to remove!

Yikes! At one corner there were four different floors all meeting! We narrowed that down!

Master bedroom after the old carpet was ripped out by us!

We realized our bedroom furinutre probaby had not been moved in ten years and the carpet was really kinda nasty. In the future - move furniture every so often to vaccuum! :)

Aubrey's room held our bed and dressers.

Avery's room had one dresser with a mirror, which she kinda liked :)

We removed the old curtains, too and realized we should dust more often! Ha!

The dining room got tight, too!

Steve was clever with the roller :)

I really don't mind painting - especially the trim and especially in A.C.

Before!
