Pool's Open!

Late spring we found a used pool on marketplace to upgrade a bit - to now a 14 ft x 48 inches. BUT, we needed a flat space and we needed Grandpa Craig's help.

First they had to level a nice flat, sunny area.
They filled in the ground with sand to make it quite level.

We decided to put it on the south side in total sun, next to the garage.

Next was laying out a tarp underneath it.

Actually putting up the pool was quite quick and then began the approximately 6-7 hours of running hose to fill the pool!

It was only about 65 degrees when we put it up, knowing the 90 degrees was on it's way soon!

The next day Aubrey was brave enough to get in - the rest of us, not so much!

The people who we got the pool from also threw in quite a few floaties, so that was really nice! But, Aubrey needs to figure them out yet :)

Next up, was putting up a fence for privacy/safety. We purchased the pre-treated wooden shadowbox fence from Menards and Steve and Craig put it up, somewhat "temporary" as they used steel posts and zip ties, but it worked great until we decide if we want to be permanent or not.

Living their best life!

Let the summer days begin!

Avery, that's not quite how the snorkel gear works :)

Show Barn

We were thrilled to find a barn to rent for the summer for Aubrey's show heifers. It is a nice 4 minute drive for us, so Aubrey has been going there one to two times a day. She's been learning about chores, feeding, washing, and of course practicing leading for her upcoming shows. Avery has actually spent many hours "helping out," too! Steve is thrilled that he gets to spend such quality with his girls and his heifers, too!

Aubrey's two main show heifers are "Ruby" and "Daisy Duke"

OSCI Field Day

On the second to last day of school on May 24, OSCI had their annual Field Day and since it was cancelled last year due to COVID, it was Avery's first time!
Mom was team Ice Blue - 10th place
Aubrey was team Marroon - tied for 6th place
Avery was team Green - 12th place

Aubrey was one of the big kids that had to carry a KinderKid

A perfectly HOT day to do a water cup relay - everyone wanted to get wet!

Obstacle course - Avery was doing the wheelbarrow on her hands

Poor Aubrey face planted her KinderKid who didn't know what to do :)
