The First Week

I can honestly say that the transition has gone much
more smoothly than I had anticipated!
I have been SO THANKFUL that Steve has been around
to help around the house and with Aubrey
while I am still recovering from surgery!

I feel like having #2, you have a bit more of a mother's instinct
and things aren't as scary.
Nursing is going GREAT this time around.
Avery is such a good baby - we are so spoiled!!
She eats very well and sleeps great in her crib, too.
I don't know if it will last, but it sure is great right now.

Aubrey is such a good helper from getting diapers, or wipes,
to picking out Avery's outfits each day -
she just loves her big sister role :)
We still have to work a bit more
on being GENTLE, but she is getting better.

Coming home from the hospital

Reunited at home and oh so happy!
Aubrey was such a good girl while we were in the hospital
and we missed her a lot!

So sweet

Daddy and his girls!

She sleeps SO WELL in her crib
in her halo sleep sack.
You notice the two pacifiers, but she really hasn't
taken to them or wanted/needed them very much at all.

Avery's first "sponge bath"
with big sister looking on and helping, too!

Mommy and her girls
(Avery looks a little jaundice here, but the home nurse said it was fading
so we didn't have to go in for any treatments or blood draws - yay!)

All clean and sleepy
(PS - as of Monday, she was back up to her birth weight!)

ONE WEEK OLD
3-19-14

Sisterly love

This, I just love!
Daddy reading a bedtime story...
Aubrey with her milk and teddy, Avery listening on.
This is her new favorite book "I'm a big sister"
