Spring Break to NWI

We headed north during our spring break, during the second weekend.
We traveled through snow and dodged flooding, but we made it!
We were thankful everyone was healthy, and it's always a fun time with family!

On Thursday, we stopped in Story City for breakfast since we left our house
at 6:30 to try to beat the snowy weather.
This was the first time the girls had McDonald's for breakfast
and they LOVED IT!

We then stopped by Sioux Center's Pizza Ranch
to say HI to Grandma while she was working and eat a great lunch!
(and watch ISU playing basketball while we ate)

the girls helped make their multi-colored cupcakes
Avery chose purple

Aubrey chose teal

playing Candyland with Weston

Jaelyn won a birthday party at the Sioux Center libary,
so on Friday morning, some cousins met up for that party!
There was popcorn, lemonade, a movie, coloring pages and
toys to play with for about an hour and a half!

a fun activity to do together

to Culver's for lunch - Avery and Jaelyn

Aubrey and Camryn

Avery was excited that her rainbow shirt matched the rainbow cupcakes -
unplanned but perfect!

turning into good little buds :)
They wanted me to notice their BOWS on their boots.

cousin fun with Jaelyn and Dakota

Camryn decided to get her ears pierced, too on Friday afternoon
so she could match Aubrey :)

We had the VG family birthday party on Friday night at Ash's

present time

This was from Jaelyn and may be the BEST present of all!
She LOVES combing her hair with her new brush!

Avery got a new real bed earlier and now her DOLL has a new loft bed, too!

YAY - water bottle holder for her bike!

a REAL charm bracelet - one says "grand-daughter" and the other is her birthstone

What a haul, Aubrey!

Wow, Avery, you did well!

ISU was playing to make it to the Big 12 championship
and Steve enjoyed throwing the kids in the air when ISU did well!

The 3 March birthday girls!

The joke has been that Curt is the "favorite child" - so I thought it was fitting
to get him an actual trophy! The idea is to pass the trophy along to each sibling
as we think they do something to earn "the favorite child" title :)

Saturday morning craft at Grandma's

On Saturday night, all 10 of us had a night out WITHOUT KIDS
as part of Mom and Dad's Christmas gift.
We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for supper and watched ISU
play their first half of the game in the Big 12 championship.
We then did an escape room together.
Unfortunately we did NOT break out in time, due to:
1- we "picked the lock" and were penalized
2- the second door room was broken and wouldn't open
3- game master was not cool
4- somone wouldn't let us get a clue earlier

Sunday morning and Aubrey and Grandma matched - they
didn't even plan it!
YELLOW for springtime!

After church, we went out to check out Curt's new lambs!

Since the lambs were born on BOTH of the girls' birthday - we
said they DEFINITELY had to hold them and name them.
I think this is Avery's girl named "Ava"

She thought holding "Ava" was pretty neat!

Curt and Emily and the girls --
Aubrey a little unsure but Avery is BEYOND thrilled!

Even Mom didn't mind holding the little lambs :)

Born on Aubrey's bithday - named "Bua"

And the other twin on Aubrey's birrhday "Aub"

One last birthday thrill - the PINATA

We made Emily hold it and each kid had a few turns to hit it

swing and a miss - Aubrey was not happy about that :)
