Tulip Time

It was Aubrey's first year marching for Tulip Time with the area Christian Schools.
There were 212 members - she plays the alto saxophone.
They marched in the Thursday night, Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon parades.
The weather held off for all of their parades to get in, thankfully!

We had to french braid the girls' hair for each parade!

G&G VG came back to the area after a trip to Chicago and Michigan!
They joined us for the Friday parades!

Getting a few pics in before the rain!

Avery loved these, and with the rain droplets, they were so pretty!

The NIGHTMARE tulips. Pella was awarded 100 of these rare tulips from Holland!
They start out dark purple and turn to an almost black before they die.

We caught up with some cousins for the Friday afternoon parade.

Grandpa Craig got us poffertjes!

We caught our Pella/Michigan cousins across the way taking our pic :)

We joined them after the parade for a quick pic before the heavy downpours again.

We decided to risk it to go the night parade and got DUMPED ON!

The rain actually did stop and it turned out decent, but by that time, most had ditched the parade.

Saturday afternoon, just Avery and I went out to the parade and met up with Aubrey after it. It was a chance of rain, but it faded and grew quite hot!

We ate stroop waffels while we waited for the parade to start.

smoothies and tater skins for a celebratory - we made it through 3 parades!
