We had Aubrey's 4 month check up today and she is a very healthy and happy little girl. Here are her stats:
Length - 26 in - 93%
Weight - 15 lbs (even) - 69%
Head - ? in - 27%
She was so cute right away with the nurse - she had quite the little laugh session with her. It was too funny! It lasted for about 5 minutes straight. We all had tears in our eyes because we were laughing so hard. Shots went okay, of course there were some tears from her but fell asleep on the car ride home. So we put some Tylenol in her and now she is resting.

Weekend Fun
On Friday, we headed out on a little 3 1/2 hour road trip to Dubuque, IA right on the border of Iowa/Illinois/Wisconsin. We went out for a cousin's wedding. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was in a hotel right on the Mississippi and very pretty! We had to get back the next day for Steve's basketball tourney so we didn't spend the night.
On the way home we ran into a storm HARD CORE! It suddenly started down pouring and wind gusts like crazy. I was driving since Steve had "enjoyed the reception" and it was horrendous! We typically never stop to "wait out the storm" because you still will get out of it faster even if you are going 10 mph but because of the intense lightning, strong winds, and down pouring rain we could not see ahead of us more that 2 feet! We decided to pull over for a bit and the highway was lined with cars that had all pulled over - it was unbelievable! Neither of us had even been out driving in a storm that bad...EVER! We turned on the radio and right exactly where we were, they reported 60 mph winds and we felt it! The whole car shook! Aubrey did ok, but of course she was scared, but I couldn't blame her, I was practically in tears too!
Here is a picture at the reception.
Aubrey has officially started wearing bows in her hair, too now. She is such a cutie and we love her so much! Enjoy this cute pic after church.

Slept through the Night!
From all the information that I read, it says that if your baby naps well during the day she will sleep better during the night. Well, for Aubrey, that is not true. Yesterday she hardly had any significant naps...she just had 4 of about 40 minutes each - not enough for her. So, she last ate at 8:30 and she was in bed sleeping before 9:00. And, she SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT! I didn't get her up until 7:45! I couldn't believe it! She had been doing better at sleeping until 5:00 or so but then she would sleep for another few hours, but this was the first time she went that long and then was up for the day! Yippee!
Now, maybe she would sleep even LONGER, if I wouldn't find her like this each morning with her feet "stuck."

Ice Cream for All
Well, with these ridiculously high temps, everyone deserves some ice cream and that includes Aubrey. She had some before from Grandma Char but now I got to feed her some...she loves it! :)

Nursery
We went to church this evening, which is always an iffy thing to do. Aubrey typically does not do the best in church in the evening, but Steve is ushering for the month of July so we have gone for the past few weeks. She did pretty good for the first 20 minutes; she's just getting so noisy...not bad, just talkative and "screaming" for fun!
I realized she had a dirty diaper so I took her out to change it and hopefully offer a distraction for a bit. I came back to church and she was just squealing like crazy :) Steve and I had never brought her to the nursery, nor had we ever discussed it. But, as Steve was taking the sermon notes he jotted down, "NURSERY." So, I went out with her and dropped her off for the first time. Evening service is the time to test the waters since there was only one other girl in there, and normally during the a.m. service there can be up to 12.
Well, we got our pager and I was just waiting for it to go off signaling that there was a problem, but nope, she did it! She made it through (or I guess I should say I made it through) her first nursery experience. The lady said she hardly made a peep. She just sucked and drooled on her dress. Perfect! :)

Mommy's Night Out
Well, it was test time for Miss Aubrey. I had a bridal shower to go to on Friday night, which meant that Steve had to stay home with Aubrey, give her a bottle, and put her to bed. Yikes! I told Steve to keep me updated throughout the night.
Normally Aubrey has been eating last at 9:00 and then to bed for the night after that. Well, at 8:00 I get a text "No guarantees but 3 oz and sleeping in crib." Hmmm, yay - now would that last...I didn't think so. I get another text around 9:45, "Would be willing to let you come home if you want." Oh, dear! Turns out that she only napped in her crib for 45 minutes and was up and upset and would not calm down. The thing that did work was taking more of the bottle as Steve would feed her another 3.5 oz, but no calming her down for bed.
So, taking the bottle....CHECK; having Steve put her to bed...UGH! Now, any advice about that? Two weeks and counting til Josh's wedding and I would like to have a babysitter put her to bed...oh boy!
