Heartland Break

Oskaloosa Christian went up to Dordt for the Heatland Convention
so I rode up with another teacher and her kids and took
the girls along with me so they could play at Grandma and Grandpa's
while I attended the conference.
On the way back, it was 6 kids and 2 moms in the big Denali.
We made it from Sanborn to Pella without stopping at all!
That is a feat for any traveler, but quite an accomplishment
with that many kids. We were quite proud of ourselves :)
Overall, it was a great weekend catching up with family!

Aubrey and Camryn in their dress-up outfit and big bows!

Jaelyn and Avery

Avery liked sitting up in the bath ring

3 bigger kids waiting their turn for their bath

Scrub a dub dub, three kids in the tub!

SO SWEET!
Avery resting on Uncle Josh and getting sleepy.

Camryn and Aubrey had their first SLEEPOVER
at Grandma Van Grouw's house!
They did great! Aubrey loved talking in her bed :)
We let them talk for a little bit and then at 9:00
when Grandma went in, it was QUIET! Super fun!

Weston and Avery
(almost exactly the same weight now :))

Let's throw Aubrey in the mix too now - lol!

All dressed up and no where to go ;)
(watching Grandma feed the kitties)

dancing and singing to "LET IT GO!"
(a good way to unwind before bed, right?)

heart-to-heart with Grandpa and Avery

bedtime snuggles with Grandpa

NOTICE GRANDPA: He shaved off his BEARD AND MUSTACHE!
Grandma was looking back and realized that it had been
20 years since he shaved his beard and she has NEVER
seen him without a mustache before!
Oh. My. Goodness!
As you can tell by Aubrey's reaction, she really didn't know how to respond.
She thought it was both funny and a bit frightening!
She asked, "Will Grandpa look normal tomorrow?!"

Although it was VERY COLD Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa
spoiled the big girls and took them to Pumpkinland.
The rest of us stayed home and inside where it was warm!

I think the winter apparel makes Aubrey look a whole lot older. :)

Thanks for pulling the girls along, Grandpa!

All in a row: not in age order this time

Putting the sleepy babe to bed...little did we know she would
have a horrid night and would be taken to Urgent Care
in the morning for an ear infection. Boo!
