Friday, December 21, we drove up to Northwest Iowa for our next Christmas parties! Unfortunately we hit Des Moines right at rush hour, with snow covered roads down to one lane, and a semi that was on fire! That led us to about an hour and a half delay to go about 25 minutes! UGH! We were beyond frustrated and almost thought about pulling over for the night, but we finally got out of it after we got off 80 and onto 680! Thank goodness we had our new portable DVD player for Aubrey or we would not have survived that 3 1/2 hour stretch there! At least we made it for Christmas and were there for about 2 1/2 days and left back for home on Christmas Eve!

We had our Van Grouw Christmas on Sunday night
December 23. It was the night that worked for all of us.
We started by opening some stockings before supper.
Aubrey got an Elmo ornament
and wanted to put in on the tree right away.

I caught a peek during prayer before supper.
You can't see him here but Uncle Curt was being silly with the girls.
They giggled and giggled and thought he was so funny!
